Control Panel and Printing Problems in Windows Vista

posted on July 18, 2008

I’ve had a problem recently with my work computer. Windows Vista won’t print saying the printer isn’t connect and when I go to the control panel to see what is happening, it opens then closes before I can do anything. I am logged in as a regular user which is in a different domain forest then the domain forest that the computer belongs to. To resolve the problem temporarily, I go to computer management (right-click on my computer and click manage) and restart the software licensing service. Once it restarts, I am able to work and print properly again.

When I find more information on this problem, I’ll pass it along.
