Just wanted to point out Virtual PC 2007 is now available on the Microsoft Beta website as a download. Head on over to connect.microsoft.com and you can dowload it and play with it.

I have it installed and I must say, it looks a lot like the old one, the differences are under the hood as opposed to cosmetic. I am going to try installing Windows Vista as a guest OS as I couldn’t get it to install correctly under Virtual PC 2004.

Graham Jones is a guest blogger on the Canadian IT Manager’s blog hosted on Technet and also the president of VANTUG. He wrote an article that explained how he had built himself a new computer after giving his son his old one and having some troubles installing Windows Vista. I had a similar issue with Windows XP running Virtual PC. Every time I would open a virtual machine (didn’t matter the OS being virtualized), bam, the computer would reboot. I would disable the sound card in the bios and all would be fine, but no sound. It turned out the problem was a case of needing a new set of drivers.  

Enhansoft has very generously posted some scripts which allow you to document your servers. One is an SMS documentation script and the other is a MOM documentation, with more to come.

I will warn you, these scripts produce reports of over 100 pages.
